Plans are underway for the second ever Suffolk Health and Wellbeing Month, and this year organisers are asking the general public to get involved!
The month, which takes place during October, comprises a series of exciting events dedicated to improving wellbeing and challenging stigma towards mental health.
The month includes events related to World Mental Health Day, which is on 10 October every year.
Suffolk Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust Chief Executive Aidan Thomas, said: “Wellbeing is important for everyone and we are keen to hear from anyone interested in running an event that promotes this message. Whether you want to hold a coffee morning to discuss mental health, or you’d like to organise a free exercise taster class, we want you to get involved.
“Suffolk Health and Wellbeing Month is about people and organisations across the county coming together with the same goal: to improve mental wellbeing.
“Events will be a mix of fun activities that promote a healthy body and healthy mind, as well as information sharing and discussion events. We want to tell people about the local services that are out there and that it is okay to ask for help.”
Suffolk County Council, Suffolk Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust and The Mind Sanctuary are working together to promote Suffolk Health and Wellbeing Month on behalf of all partners involved.
To register your event online please contact david.grimmer@suffolk.gov.uk or fill in this online form http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/shawm. The registration deadline is 17th August.
By registering your event with Suffolk Health and Wellbeing Month you will be included on the calendar of events on www.themindsanctuary.com, receive guidance for promoting your event and, most importantly, be part of the biggest health and wellbeing event in Suffolk!
