It's Up Up and Away for Caremark Bedford
Date of article: 08-Aug-12
Local home care provider Caremark (Bedford) are setting the sky as their limit, literally, by organising a Great Balloon Race in aid of Bedford Daycare Hospice. The launch is taking place in Bedford Park on Saturday 15th September at 3pm, where they hope to launch 1500 balloons on a race to see which one travels the furthest. There is a £100 High Street Voucher up for grabs for the person who’s balloon ticket is returned from the furthest point away from the launch. Managing Director Jo Fitzmaurice and her Sister Care Manager Hayley Parkins comment “Having lost our Mum to cancer in 2008, we have become very passionate about what we can to help those in need, along with our team of care and support workers we are determined to do our best to raise much needed funds to benefit the people using the services of this charity, It would be so great if we can reach our target of 1500 balloons in the race and even better if we exceed that number !.” Bedford Daycare Hospice provides specialist palliative care on a daily basis to all people affected by cancer or other life threatening illnesses. Services at the Hospice are free and they very much rely on the financial support and generosity of the people in the community to enable the hospice to continue to deliver a unique service of the highest standard. The balloons are being sold via an entry form available from Caremark’s website www.caremark.co.uk/bedford or by telephoning the office on 01234 212344. All entry forms must be returned by 31st August in order to enter the race. There will be a limited number of balloons available on Race Day for those who wish to enter on the day.
