We selected Advantage Nursing based on internet research and discussions with a manager. We used three carers day and night, over a two-month period, for a patient at her home with a terminal illness. We can not praise too highly, the attention given to the patient in the most difficult of circumstances.

The management were quick to respond to my request for a service and provided my husband with 2 excellent carers trained in all aspects of complex health needs. The carers were compassionate, caring and knowledgeable in palliative care and also provided an amazing carer who supported myself. My husband could only communicate by pen and paper but he had a great rapport with his carers.

1. Excellent record keeping. Management always available liaising with myself and carers.
2. Continuity of staff; the same 2 carers provided 78 hours per week cover.
3. Excellent knowledge of management of complex needs. My husband has a tracheostomy requiring regular deep suctioning; a stoma needing bay changes; peg feeding and a complex medication regime. Carers were well trained in moving and handling and using the equipment. I would not have managed to care for my husband's needs and keep his wish to die at home without the amazing care provided by this first class agency, advantage with its very professional staff. Thank you.
