We used Bluebird Care only for a short period, but they were able to help out in a time of crisis and brought immense peace, reassurance and care to my Dad.

The manager could not have been more prompt in her response, nor more helpful in providing a service.

My Dad enjoyed having them with him.

I had no personal interaction with the carers, and do not always have the information from Dad, therefore I cannot really express views on some of these questions with much real knowledge.

We are extremely happy with the care that our Aunt has been receiving from Bluebird Care for the past year.

The carers are all very professional, courteous, caring and efficient and look after our aunt with great kindness and their attention to detail are to be recommended.

If they have any concerns at all we are informed immediately and they normally offer a solution that perhaps we would not have thought of ourselves due to their excellent training in the care of the
elderly.

We have no hesitation in recommending Bluebird Homecare in Clarkston as the care offered gives us peace of mind that our Aunt is being well looked after when we are not there and also you can
tailor the package to suit the users needs in respect of visiting times and length of visit.

Bluebird Care has delivered a fantastic level of service not only to my parents but to us as a family. Their team has enabled a degree of freedom from a life that was constrained by continual care to my mum and dad that both suffer from a form of dementia.

Their awesome staff are carefully selected before employment and matched to each service users needs. They have almost become members of the family are known and trusted by us all.

Having had bad experiences with another care provider, it is a breath of fresh air to receive a care service which is able to meet our needs and consistency delivers on promises. I would have no hesitation to refer them to anyone else.

Very satisfied with the service provided by Bluebird Care (Glasgow South). Have been using the service for almost three years and except in instances of holidays/sickness have had the same carer throughout. The management team is small, and therefore provides a more personal service than may be possible with a larger organisation. Very efficient, and in my view always puts the customer first and strives to meet the customer's requirements.

John Perry, Director at Bluebird Care (Glasgow South) responded to this review on 07 Feb 2017:

Thank you very much for the extremely kind review, it's very satisfying to hear. We pride ourselves in the quality of the care we deliver and that is down to the staff we employ, who all go that extra mile for their customers.

The service we receive is excellent - both carers and management are very accommodating.

Despite our initial concerns of having to trust others with our Mum's care we are very happy and feel confident and reassured that all aspects of her care needs are fully met by efficient, kind and caring staff.

Bluebird Care (Glasgow South) have really given that human touch to my mum's care which was lacking with her previous care. They are very punctual and go out of their way to make my mum's life more enjoyable. My mum has become very familiar with her care worker and has got into a far better daily routine with them. They are sensitive to the fact that she has Alzheimer's and work around that. The extra company helps her feel less isolated as she likes staying at home most of the time.

In January 2015 following surgery for colon cancer I required personal care and domestic assistance daily for several weeks. Bluebird Care came to the rescue with their bright, helpful and compassionate girls, whose support was invaluable.

Initial introduction on the 17th May 2016. Very relaxed and went through what my needs were. Left Humeral Head Fracture, arm was in a sling and had difficulty with general housework, hanging my clothes out. The girls were very helpful and took time to get to know me and did a brilliant job. Nothing was too much trouble. On the last visit I requested to go food shopping, accompanied me, took my bags and back home. I wish I had started them earlier instead of me trying to do things. I can't praise highly enough of the service that I was given and treated with respect at all times. Thank you.

Jane Perry has owned the Bluebird Care Glasgow South franchise with her husband John since 2011 and is still as passionate about delivering a bespoke, quality service, just as much now, as she was back then!

Jane says "We have worked extremely hard to deliver a top quality care at home service and this has been recognised by the various awards won over the last few years. This is not achievable unless we have a team experienced professional people some of whom have been with us since the start, all sharing the same drive and passion to deliver a care service that they are proud of. I take a huge amount of pride and satisfaction at what we have achieved so far, but far from resting on our laurels, our aim is to continue to improve where we can, invest in innovation, attract the very best people and be the first name in everyone’s thoughts when it comes to needing a quality care at home service. ”

Description:

My name is Lynsey Torbit and I felt, even from an early age, that working within the care sector would be a passion of mine. Being brought up with very well educated parents, they strived to ensure education was a prime part of my life. When I was younger, I remember my mother going out to her shift as a nursing sister and I was always interested in the idea of looking after others, and loved the uniform (at that time, a dress and a hat was uniform). My mum has since progressed and has received her PHD in public health and this has inspired me to want to progress in the sector; I also had a burning desire to prove I can be anything I want to be if I put my mind to it. I have worked within the care sector for ten years now and have had the pleasure of working with two different private care at home companies. I have developed a vast amount of skills throughout both these companies, however the primary key within any role is to ensure you listen to the customer. I have also been honoured to have managed a complex spinal package for a young gentleman, who sadly passed away last year. It gave me great pride to say that during the three years I worked with him, we were able to get him back into secondary education, support him with further education, take him on a lovely holiday and allow him to remain independent in his own home.

I have recently joined Bluebird Care Glasgow South in March this year and commenced in the role of Supervisor. During the past few months, I have been given the opportunity to take on the role as Care Manager to which I am delighted and extremely excited about. I love the passion and commitment Bluebird Care have for their customers and staff alike and am very keen to be part of their exciting future plans. I have recently attended the care manager training and one thing that stood out more than anything else, is the ethos of Bluebird care, which I feel is truly inspirational. I am a keen learner and enjoy a challenge. I am working towards my SVQ Level 4 and hope to have this finished before the end of the year and I have also developed a hunger for distance learning and endeavour to learn new skills, qualifications, to further my knowledge of the care sector as a whole.

In my spare time I try and embark on some fitness each week. I have just joined my local gym and hope that my enthusiasm for fitness will last as long as my one year’s membership I have signed up for!

I have a fond appreciation for music and like to keep up to date on new trends for those karaoke evenings I attend from time to time.

HR and Training Manager

When I first moved to Scotland 7 years ago, I worked for a Recruitment company and this opened my eyes to the Care Sector. An opportunity arose at Bluebird Care as a Coordinator, which I applied for and was successful. I started with Bluebird Care in March 2011 and have not looked back since. I loved my role as a coordinator and in 2012 won Coordinator of the Year at the Scottish Care Awards. This was a very proud moment for myself.

I took a short break from the business to have my little girl, and have returned as the HR and Training Manager. This role is rewarding and enables me to do a job that I am passionate about. I get to work with all staff members in regards to their personal development and career with Bluebird Care, whilst being able to also work on projects such as Step Into Leadership and Lesson Plans/Observations. I enjoy developing new resources and delivering training and mentoring where possible. The other important role with job is supporting the management team and Directors with recruitment, changes within the business and absence management.
