As a 24/7 caregiver, I need to be able to have as well as lead my own life. The sitter-cover provides this for me in one sense. My concern is always for the person that I care for, in that she has security, safety and a sitter who empathises. This service fulfils these requirements which enabled me to have peace of mind, it may not always be considered but it is a vital priority where dementia is the focal issue.
At the office level, the meaningful dialogue I have had to initiate, has produced clearer and more efficient procedures in the mechanics of arranging the (much-valued) sitter cover.

Thank you very much for your feedback. As a charity rooted in supporting carers, we appreciate that unpaid carers need time out from their caring duties, and our services are designed with that in mind. I'm glad we can help, and please let us know any ideas for further improvement. Anna Perry, CEO

Have only just joined Carers Trust Thames but so far, so good. Having an hours visit is a bit of a luxury compared to my last carers company. Most satisfied with the service so far. Thank you.

Anna Perry, CEO at Carers Trust Thames (Central & South Bucks Office) responded to this review on 24 Nov 2016:

Thank you so much for your kind feedback - it is lovely to know that our service is having a positive effect.

After a good two years of trying to persuade my very obstinate Father to engage a Care Agency to do some Personal Care for my Mum, Dad now looks forward to Mum's Carers visits on Monday and Thursday mornings, as it takes some of the strain off his shoulders.

He is Mum's Sole Carer and, with the best will in the world, is not able of doing Mum's Personal Care for her.

My hubby and I live 2 hour's drive away and the question of whether my Mum was remembering to have a wash was of great concern to us .... enter Bucks Carers Trust - every Carer, without exception, has shown my Mum respect and consideration and they always leave Dad with a completed time-sheet describing what care they have done for Mum during their visit.

The office always try to find a Carer to work each shift, sometimes under what must be difficult circumstances, during holiday times or times of staff sickness.

Anna Perry, Chief Executive at Carers Trust Thames (Central & South Bucks Office) responded to this review on 04 Jan 2016:

Thank you very much for this review. I am pleased that we are able to relieve some pressure from you as family carers. Best wishes.

The Carers Trust were extremely helpful and understanding when I arranged care with them for my mother. My mother did not understand her own need for help and the Carers Trust managed this with tact and discretion. My mother has had continuity with her carer who has encouraged her to do things with her and developed a close bond. The Carers Trust took a great weight off my mind with their help and flexibility and understanding of dealing with individuals with Alzheimer's and I am incredibly grateful that I can trust them.

Thank you very much for taking the time to complete a review, it is much appreciated. Best wishes, Anna

I have found all this year that carers trust employees. Carers have been fantastically flexible in times during the day. All the carers have been ultra good in looking after me. I make sure to say "coooeee!" on the phone (most times) when contacting the office. Careers are good at transferring me from wheelchair to my Brutus mobile using a hoist. 98-100% is needed.

Carers Trust have a very limited number of staff, never seem to be able to replace when they leave. We had them for four years and now share with another agency as they are unable to cope with full package. Only two carers are excellent the rest are having to be watched all the time they are unable to grasp how to deal with my paralysed husband and expect me to help or guide.

Anna Perry, Chief Executive at Carers Trust Thames (Central & South Bucks Office) responded to this review on 09 Dec 2015:

We are sorry that you feel that you are not receiving a good service from our charity. We have replaced staff when they have left, but as you have found with the other agencies you have worked with, it is difficult for any care agency to meet your requirements all of the time. We are pleased that we are your preferred care provider a lot of the time, and that at the moment you are coming to us for additional care. We appreciate that sometimes care workers need additional training and mentoring, and we do provide this, but we have received compliments elsewhere on this website regarding the same team’s ability to safely move and handle clients with extremely restricted mobility. I would request that you feed back concerns about individual care workers to your Locality Manager promptly so we can continue to try to address your concerns.

I have been with Carers Trust from the first over 20 years. I have rarely had problems. Occasionally I get the odd bad carer but they often leave early. I am on the 'at risk' list as I am so disabled and have severe memory problems (after lots of anaesthetic).
The agency now try to give me a few carers who know all my needs and can prompt me when I am doing something wrong when I am shopping, when I need personal things. I am very satisfied with the care and carers.
