Throughout our association, I could not speak too highly of the service we were given. Management were always prompt to respond to requests. The carers exemplary in their professionalism genuinely caring approach to a very difficult job.

I found Choice Homecare to be a care provider of the highest standard. The approach of the organisation is holistic, caring in a totally professional and consistent manner for the client while being mindful of the needs of family. I have nothing but praise and gratitude for the service they provided.
Their care had a profound effect on how our mother was supported.

I have been very impressed overall. As issues have arisen, we have discussed ways forward. There is a particular issue at the moment as to the demands my mother is making upon her carers and as to a potential personality clash between her one particular carer. I shall, of course, be talking to the manager about this.

Since the care my mother has been receiving from this company she has really thrived. She is well fed, kept clean and taken out to Church twice a week in her wheelchair. These ladies will do anything to keep her healthy and happy. They smile all the time and have immense patience and strength. I cannot recommend these kind people enough - thank you all!

The service provided is for my mother and is a Sunday service from 7.00a.m. to 7 p.m. I actually live in Italy and personally have no complaints but obviously, I am always guided by my private carer that actually lives in and gives 24 hr.service. However, from my personal dealings, I have no complaints.

The moment I met the owner of Choice Homecare I knew I had found the right company. I felt with the owner, she really cared. Her company was a vocation more than just a business. The carers who come to look after my Mum were all lovely. Some more suited to my Mum than others. I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend Choice Homecare to anyone who was looking for home care.

I am fortunate in having an extremely good full-time carer. My contacts with the agency are few but, when I have needed to discuss any issues, they are always available and helpful.

Lee-Ann de Villiers, Director at Choice Homecare responded to this review on 19 Oct 2017:

Thank you for this feedback.

We have generally been very happy with the carers provided by Choice Homecare, the level of supervision provided by the agency and the communications we have had with the agency. Indeed the only adverse comment we have is that a recent hand-over from one carer to another (in case a temporary one) was not handled well in that there was no discussion of my mother's medication.

Lee-Ann de Villiers, Director at Choice Homecare responded to this review on 19 Oct 2017:

Thank you, for this feedback. We appreciate your comments. We have addressed this gap in handover information with the care-workers, and trust that this will be covered in future handovers.

I am very happy with the standard of service we are receiving. With his Alzheimer's condition, my father was so confused and unsettled before the carers arrived, and would not do anything we asked him (e.g. take his pills, take a bath). Now he is settled in his mind and so much more content. The carers are very good at identifying the triggers that were causing his agitations. I am very pleased with how communicative and friendly they are, so I feel that I am still part of the support group instead of feeling displaced by their superior skills. I was so worried that we would need to put my father in a care home, but to be in his own home with such expert care is proving to be a great solution.

Good care and support from live-in carers made the final weeks of life good by taking away concern over any issues in the home or need for assistance. It also provided company and conversation.
This was a considerable comfort for both the person being cared for and the family who lived 60 miles away.

As soon as the owner came into my mothers home, I felt great empathy coming from her. I really felt she care and the agency seems like a vocation rather than just a money making company. The carers have been lovely with my mum who is very far from easy. They are both endlessly patient. Taking time preparing meals and chatting with my mum. Neither carers manage to help mum with washing or bathing. I still have to do their myself, but as I said my mum is difficult!

We have been very impressed with the standard of care and support. Visits have been regular and reliable. The carers have been open and friendly and helped in many practical ways such as washing, dressing and preparing sandwiches.

I have usually seen the same person (now become a friend) to help me. As we are both Christians we read the bible for the day. Then we pray. My helper is very flexible and I have never heard her say she would not do a job I have asked her to do. I also remember to say thank you. After the jobs are done we play a crossword type game. It is useful for learning new words. We have a dictionary handy all the time. We enjoy refreshments from time to tome. Things not needed by me can be passed on.

My mother has been helped by Choice Home care for the last couple of years. She now receives help for 2 mornings a month. Her helper helps her bath, do jobs and pay board games together. This assistance and companionship gives her the added help she needs to continue living independently at the age of 90.
