How does home care work at Home Instead Senior Care?

Their home care services include companionship, personal care and home help. Over 80 per cent of their CAREGivers are also specialised in Alzheimer’s and dementia care at the Ealing office.

In addition to this, clients have the option of choosing hours anywhere from a minimum of one to 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and holidays.

The agency provides a person-centred and individualised approach for each client in their care plans that helps CAREGivers to have a broader understanding of what they are like, their wants and needs and any disabilities they may have. This includes a background of the client and their daily routine, lifestyle, preferences, goals and needs.

The care plan also includes whether medication assistance may be required and an environment and suitability checklist of the client’s home. Over time, the Care Manager will continue to monitor and reassess client care plans if any aspects of their wants or needs change. Hours may also be reduced or added if the client’s requirements change.

Home Instead Senior Care Ealing give their clients a choice through their CAREGivers based on preferences, personal interests and languages. They provide continuity with the same team of CAREGivers visiting and change CAREGivers if one feels they may not be suited to them. Clients are thus able to build quality relationships with CAREGivers and maintain meaningful connections.

After recruitment and selection, CAREGivers undertake mandatory training that includes but is not limited to Health and Safety, Moving and Handling, First Aid awareness, Protection and Medication awareness. They also provide Alzheimer’s and dementia training, so CAREGivers can provide better support to those who are affected.

Great to see another client's family happy with the care and support we provide there loved one. Thank you.

The company is approachable, willing to listen. Carers work with respect and care at all times. Supportive and aware of family. Suggestion - training or further care required for clients at end stages of life or palliative care feeding.

I would like to thank Home Instead. The service is good but there is not enough to cook for one day, especially for two days. I have to eat tea and bread. I am happy with the personal care when they come. They are very polite, clean and very nice people.

I appreciate that I have spoken with the social worker to offer more time because I have become more weak. I have lost my weight. I appreciate the home care for everything. God bless you all.

Overall the quality of care is good. Staff are reliable at turning up and are punctual. The sitting service is fairly easy for them but they take time to talk. make my father tea, wash up or take him out when weather permits.

Generally a good experience but sometimes time-keeping is a problem.
Also, we would welcome more consistency in using the same carer(s) who are used to caring for my mother.

On behalf of my mum - who is a service user (cleaning help, once weekly). Caring management team; helpful and try to address issues and to resolve.

We have had approximately four different caregivers since starting and would very much like to have one regular carer (where possible). The care giver that came 28th August was excellent.

We have been looking after your mother-in-law for over 4 years, and the best way I can describe the quality of the care she has received is the way both the Family and our office have communicated regularly so she receives the best care and the care to be person-centred to her needs.

Present experience is good, very happy with the present carer, would not like her to be replaced.

Service is overall good. At times, however, on the occasion that I do visit, I do see my mother's clothes cupboard unkempt. The bathroom I feel can be cleaned to a better standard as sometimes the sink or toilet aren't always cleaned properly. The carers are overall polite and do usually carry out work efficiently.

Thank you for the review. We will speak to the team of caregivers who visit your mother and provide further training and ask them to read the support plan again so all expectations are met.

Carers were attending to help the client get in and out of the bath, some cleaning and hoovering were done, quite satisfactorily. Carers were punctual, polite, trustworthy and cooperative.

Thank you for your review of our services and we are pleased you find our caregivers trustworthy, honest and punctual. We have a software system in place: If our caregivers are going to more than 10 minutes late, we automatically inform our clients and apologise, and because we don't do less than 1-hour calls, our caregivers are not rushed with each client.

We have found Home Instead professional and helpful. Their carers are empathetic and supportive.

Great to see you are happy with our service over the last 5 years and we are confident at Home Instead that we can continue to meet your needs.

As an independent women living alone, the initial step to accept help was difficult. I soon realised that there were some tasks I was not able to complete on my own. As I do not get out much and needed assistance with my weekly shopping I contact HISC. It is great to go out with the carers to the supermarket and be able to do my own shopping while they push me in my wheelchair. What could have been a difficult task has now been made easier. It’s great to know that care can go beyond domiciliary and can be implemented into companionship and assistance with daily or weekly tasks.
