She said: “If it wasn’t for home carers residents wouldn’t be able to stay in their homes and that is their wish, they’ve been in their own home for a long time and they don’t want to give it up
“On a typical day I visit several clients in the morning and I cover the Poole, Bournemouth and Ferndown areas. I then come back to the office and deal with any complaints that have come in or respond to day-to-day queries. I also allocate work to our senior carers. A carer would typically do between 10 and 20 visits per day, depending on the hours the carer works and also depending on the level of care required by the client at each visit.
“I’d encourage people who are thinking about homecare work to just give it a go. If you make a difference to somebody then why not? Especially if you’re helping someone to stay in their home for longer. If you’re passionate and you care, you’ll go far.”
