My mother needed carers at home before moving to a residential home. This was her first experience of needing care, after being very independent. Each of the Bluebird carers was friendly and caring and treated her with respect. Because of this she settled well and was happy with their care . I'd very happily recommend Bluebird.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience.

We are delighted to hear that your mother's first experience of receiving care was a positive one. Supporting someone who has been independent to feel comfortable, respected and at ease is incredibly important to us, and it's...

From the first point of contact Bluebird were sensitive, understanding and respectful of my mother's needs. This is not a one size fits all company - they really take the time to listen and understand the person rather than just their condition. Kind, flexible and totally professional. Highly recommend.

I am full of admiration for the carers who braved the snow and then terrible weather conditions during the storm to make sure my father received his daily support visits.

Their courage, personal dedication and professionalism are impressive. Thank you.

Reply from Sharon Wilkinson, Operations Director at Bluebird Care Exeter and West Devon

Thank you for such kind words, we are also extremely proud of our care team and the dedication they show, particularly in such extreme conditions. Supporting our customers at any time is important but the significance of that support is heightened when we have adverse weather.

From first telephone contact, Bluebird Care Exeter have been professional, approachable and caring. They take onboard any changes in care required, whether permanent or on a temporary basis. Mum looks forward to her daily visits and is enjoying the variety of conversation and interaction that each carer brings. As a family, we have been impressed by the care and commitment from every carer we have had contact with and can relax in the knowledge that we can access additional services if and when needed. We would not hesitate to recommend Bluebird Exeter to friends and family who need that extra support in difficult times. A big thank you to you all, Bluebird Exeter.

Carers have shown compassionate care and close attention to my father's needs. The four main carers have got to know my dad well and are tuned into any changes to his heath or wellbeing. I particularly like that my dad has developed good relationships with his regular carers and whilst they respect his independence, I am informed of any concerns.

Reply from Jacqueline Fyall, Head of Business Development at Bluebird Care Exeter and West Devon

They always try to accommodate the time of visit that I want. The carers are always on time, if they are unavailable or delayed, a telephone call lets you know. The carers always have a smile on their face and will do whatever you ask them to do.

I do not know how I would have coped looking after my auntie, especially in the last seven weeks of her life, without the care, help, support and experience of Bluebird Care. The management, office and carers were all amazing. They always went more than the extra mile for us. My auntie loved the carers who took such time with her and were always cheerful, friendly and professional during every visit. They deserve every bit of praise - they are all superb, a real credit to Bluebird as a company. Absolute angels!

Originally we asked for a carer to come at 9.30 - 10.30 once per week, but this is rarely the case. Sometimes they come at 11 or 11.30 which is too late for me to have my shower (the reason to have a carer).
The carers are polite and always ask if there is anything extra to do.

Some are more thorough at household tasks than others.

Both management and care provider, demonstrated a high degree of professionalism. Care was administered with thoughtfulness, skill, discretion and maturity. Culinary skills were particularly appreciated and contact with neighbours helping with transport for shopping (in a rather remote location), was handled with ease and competence. Though only for a short time, the whole care period proved very beneficial to recovery.

My uncle was probably one of Bluebird's shortest-lasting clients due to his rapid deterioration in health, but in that brief two weeks that you cared for him, I was really impressed with your obvious care and concern for him. This was made plain to me in your constant communication with me and your simple concern for his welfare. It far outshone the care and communication, I and he received from his months in a care home. Stay as kind as you are.

I cannot talk highly enough of Bluebird Care. From the first phone call, through to the assessment and then to the carers, I have received an outstanding service. The carers supporting my father, over a period of months, have been highly trained in all areas and carry out their duties with respect. They have all been so kind and friendly and keen to acquaint themselves with the family. My father has enjoyed the company of all the carers and appears content and at peace. Bluebird Care keep me well informed and whenever I am in contact with them I am greeted immediately with a very caring and understanding response. Thank you.

I have no hesitation in recommending Bluebird Care Exeter to anyone in need of home care services. In my opinion, all their staff do an exceptional job in a challenging work sector. I find the care staff well trained and extremely helpful, and the office staff very responsive and efficient. Everyone is always willing to go the extra mile. I have mobility issues and have used Bluebird services on an intermittent basis for over five years now, whenever my husband is away. It gives us great peace of mind to be able to rely on help from Bluebird when needed.
