I am very glad we chose Gardiner's homecare. The guidance and support from the care management has been invaluable and all aspects dealt with great sensitivity and compassion. The care team's level of vigilance and empathy is outstanding and has given us great comfort and reassurance. Everyone in the team has been brilliant.

Gardiners have been looking after my father for several years now. He has now transitioned to four care visits a day with two carers. My father is blind, deaf and doubly incontinent and bedbound now but he is treated with dignity and respect by all the Gardiners team despite the challenging circumstances. All the carers are so kind and caring, take the time to talk to him even though it is incredibly difficult because of his hearing and we trust them absolutely to look after him. The care manager is also excellent, always liaising with the family and keeping us up to date with what is going on.

I have been so happy with the care that the carers from Gardiners have provided for my dad. They are all kind and supportive and have enabled him to maintain his independence at home despite his dementia. They provide practical and emotional support and help him to start his day in a cheery way, orienting him to the day ahead.
I have also been pleased with the efficient support offered by the care agency in terms of organising the care and the payments required etc.

I thoroughly recommend Gardiners to others needing to support their loved one at home.

I have had 4 days a week care since my wife died 2 years ago. She had full on care until she died. In discussion with my offspring we decided that I should have a 5 days a week care. I have had my own health issues and the care has been invaluable. Not only do the carers carry out household functions. Also they provide me with company. I have fouls that all of them have interesting back stories. I by nature I am a good conversationalist and my needs have al always been met.

Reply from Simon Mahony, Director at Gardiner's Homecare

Gardiners started care for my dad in January 2026, after he had just lost his wife and had progressed into middle term dementia. It was a difficult transition for my dad and the Gardiners team were excellent in making the process possible. They care for my dad with empathy, sympathy, kindness and warmth. Their give support though companionship and care for him.. They keep us well informed and we have a clear and open communication with them that enables us to inform them of any change needs. My dad is now at ease with them and looks forward to them coming for a chat and preparing his dinners for him. Because my dad is now at ease with them it gives us peace of mind that he is cared for when we can't get there. We are very grateful for Linzi and her team making everything so easy at these difficult times. I would highly recommend them, they are excellent in everything they do. We could not have got a better care team.

The support and care that the wonderful team at Gardiners gave to my Dad and his partner for over 18 months enabled them to stay living in their own house for as long as possible , as was their wish.
There were many challenges along the way but their collective skills at solving these and adapting as the situation changed was invaluable. Patience and understanding both with our loved ones and us as relatives did not go unnoticed either.
Everyone's contribution was amazing , they all worked really hard to build trust and rapport and achieved this with unrelenting patience and kindness .

As relatives we were given all the time, support and guidance that we needed , often over and above what would be expected. I would not hesitate to recommend Gardiners .

Throughout the two and a half years that Gardiner's assisted my brother and I with the care of our sister, during the latter stages of Alzheimer's disease, their carers and managers provided invaluable support and guidance on the best way to handle the illness as it progressed. All the carers who visited were friendly and efficient and our regular carer, who attended throughout, was a great source of comfort to our sister with her cheery personality and worked wonders to keep up our spirits too.

Gardiners cared for Dad at home in the final year of his life. At first these were daily companionship visits and then as Dad became acutely unwell increased to four paired visits a day involving personal care, feeding assistance and meds. Dad and the family received wonderful care from the Gardiners' team who treated Dad with such dignity, warmth and kindness. We found the whole team to be very responsive whenever changes were necessary as Dad's health declined. Dad and the family also really benefitted from the very many helpful and practical suggestions that only such a very experienced team can make.

In Dad's final days, the team could not have been kinder. It means a lot that with Gardiner's support we were able to fulfill Dad's wish that he die peacefully at home.

I have a friend with dementia who lived on his own and had no family or relations in this country.
From September 2024 when he started needing help until May 2025 when he went into a care home he had carers from Gardiners visit him at home, at first three times a week and then twice daily.
Gardiners were very flexible in what they could provide and in the hours they could attend. They cooked, tidied, washed up, bathed him, took him shopping and to the surgery, even providing money if he found he'd forgotten his wallet when out. All the carers seemed well-trained, cheerful and sympathetic, taking time to ask him about his life and interests.

I was particularly impressed by the manager. All requests seemed to be possible, such as visits out of hours at short notice. The manager also had a good understanding of the type of dementia suffered by my friend, and made predictions as to its development which have proved accurate and useful for forward planning.

Absolutely fantastic care agency!! Having spoken to various friends who have used local care agencies, and heard some negative reports, I was anxious about getting care for my elderly parents.
Gardiners have been excellent in every way, brilliant carers, super communication, together with support and advice above and beyond what you'd expect.
My parents have very different needs and Gardiners' staff have met all of the requirements. Carers take time to chat with my parents whilst also carrying out the tasks and doing anything extra that's needed.

I have been incredibly impressed with every aspect of the care provided and feel so relieved that my parents are receiving the very best care and support. I've seen at first hand what excellent care looks like! Thank you Gardiners!

A few misunderstandings about meals which left a lot of food unused so wasted. Some carers infinitely better than others. The office were always quick to change the not so good ones though.

The office would always address problems Very quickly

Gardiners consistently provide carers that are highly motivated to meet needs identified. They are usually friendly and happy to chat or just get on with jobs depending on what is required on a particular day. It is usually the same person on a particular day of the week, such as carer A on Mondays, carer B on Wednesdays. Staff usually arrange cover when usual carers have planned leave.

I turned to Gardeners Home Care when my husband's Alzheimers started to get worse and I was in need of respite care. One staff member in particular came to visit and assess us to see what we would require and then got the ball rolling for us. We had a lovely lady who has experience in Alzheimers so was able to cope with my husbands demands and attention. The carer would often turn to with the hoover and dusting for me while I took time out to be me for a day. She also looked after our dog if needed. Gardeners were very helpful and understanding and would listen to you if you wished to talk. The carer went above and beyond her caring role. She to would listen and was very understanding. I would like to thank you for all your help in caring for my husband and helping me fill out the Attendance Allowance form and for the lovely card you sent to us and we wish you all the very best.
