Home Instead (Wetherby, North Leeds and Horsforth)

The team at HomeInstead have looked after my mother from August 2025 through to September 2026. The provision only stopped after my mother moved to live with a sister.

The care was an initial emergency two week live-in care following a fall and infection before transitioning into evening check-ins/preparation of evening meals before then moving back to full-time live-in care since January 2026.

Following the fall in August 2025 the team were able to put in place a live-in carer within 24 hours and from then have been very responsive and have provided first class care throughout.

Each of the carers and managers have been very understanding and they did a great job of ensuring continuity of carers with two providing the vast majority of the care, both of whom my mother trusted implicitly and got on very well with.

I turned to Home Instead when my mother needed care as the same team had provided end-of-life care for my father five years earlier. They had been as professional then.

Mum enjoyed their visits and felt in safe hands.

I would highly recommend this care company in every respect. Thank you so much for making this chapter of Dad's life so much easier for us to navigate.

Changing dad's morning care to Home Instead has been a game-changer. Being a sufferer from dementia, routine is a key thing. Knowing that the carer will turn up at the regular time is very important and comforting by ensuring a routine is in place. The previous provider could turn up any time over a one and a half hour period. We have generally been pleased with the carers allocated, and having the majority of them in regular slots enables Dad to feel comfortable, and he is used to a familiar face. Additionally, they get to know dad and can build rapport and support him in the best way possible. It is appreciated that they have the time and inclination to undertake additional duties (washing, ironing, etc., along with a weekly shop). This has taken pressure off the family members who do not live locally, and also allows more time for them to 'visit' dad rather than be there at his house doing all the odd jobs, etc.

Could not wish for better care from all the staff and management.

I was concerned on my return ( having experienced how my husband had found the homes he'd been in ) how I would find him. However, he was happy and in a far better place both physically and psychologically. He had really enjoyed having our lovely carer around. She'd been excellent company, engaged him in activities, dealt with him in a sensitive manner and kept him so well looked after. I was thrilled ! My home was clean & neat too !

The liaison manager was very efficient and accommodating. The whole engagement process went well. I will certainly use Home Instead again.

I have been in contact with Home Instead for the last two years arranging a timetable of care for my friend who has mobility needs and now has complex needs related to dementia. They have always been very helpful in providing cover even at the last minute when needed. Liaising with them on the phone when my friend had difficulty in communicating with them because of language barriers they have always demonstrated great patience and willingness to meet and understand her needs .

I can't praise the care professionals at Home Instead enough. They go over and beyond to care for my mum. Since they have been looking after her my mind has been at rest. During the recent snow one of the carers walked to mum twice to ensure she had care. Another staff member spent two hours of her own time waiting for me to arrive when there was a power cut. They are so kind and friendly, just the kind of people you want to care for a parent. Nothing is too much trouble for them and thanks to the app I get detailed notes three times a day. Communication is excellent and they keep me informed of things we need. Mum calls them her angels, they are I can't thank them enough, they are such a blessing to our family! I tell everyone about them and would recommend them to anyone - I'm so grateful!!

The firm was recommended to me by a previous client whose parent this firm also cared for. This is a difficult market to work in but the quality of care and service we received from Home Instead was excellent from start to finish. They helped deal with a number of medical crises that my father was subject to and helped us to get him home quickly and back on his feet. They were sympathetic to changing needs (both increasing and reducing care) and dealt with me, as a son of a client, with respect. I would recommend them to others without hesitation.

If I have any issues they are very happy to help and discuss options and solutions to our problems and ongoing concerns, as my mum's needs progress.

Carers visiting my mother are special and carer for every eventuality.

Having tried two companies, I appreciated the attention to detail of the current company and the introduction of our helper. What a delightful lady helper who is so helpful and obliging. She has given me guidance on jobs I am not really used to. My wife is so appreciative of her help and feels happy with her. I now feel confident in the knowledge I can leave my home for a break. Because of my sight impairment, I would like to know when care visits are changed, and that someone notifies me by phoning my landline. This would be most helpful to me.

I was glad to be introduced to the support worker/care professional by the care manager and am always happy to have the companionship of the support worker who is considerate, hopeful and has a good sense of humour. The office staff have always been courteous and helpful with any queries that I have had. The service is really good.

Willin carers, sympathetic to the needs of the client. Efficient, and thoughtful to wife of client. Always willing to help.

Overall, I am very satisfied with Home Instead. They have been, for the most part, very professional in their dealing with me. If there is one small request, it is sometimes due to pressure, communication is not too good, so someone can turn up who is different to whom I expect. This is usually sorted out with a telephone call, very promptly.

The care I receive from Home Instead carers is outstanding. My only issue with the company is not being kept up-to-date with changes in my care schedule.
