Bluebird Care (Bradford North) is a progressive home-care & community support provider, delivering high-quality care for Adults in the Shipley, Baildon, Eccleshill, Wrose, Undercliffe, Thackley and Idle areas of Bradford. We were rated GOOD by the Care Quality Commission this year.

We require full-time carers to help provide a high standard of support for our Customers.

We pay £7.70 - £13.00/hr, plus holiday pay and generous mileage allowance.

Applicants with relevant experience and a current DBS registered with DBS update service could receive up to £200 in a welcome bonus.

We can also offer guaranteed hours subject to availability.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Genuinely cares for others and wants to make a real difference to people’s lives
  • Has a desire to learn and develop new skills
  • is able to support adults who use our service in a manner that shows respect
  • has good verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience would be great, but not essential as we will provide full induction training and on-going career development.

However own vehicle is essential due to the nature of this job. We operate from 7 am to 10:30 pm, 7 days a week. Staff can choose to work day shifts, evenings or a combination of both. However, carers are expected to work alternate weekends including evenings.

The types of tasks you might undertake vary depending on the needs of the customer. However, we do a lot of social and community work and work closely with customers in their own home:

  • Assist customers to get up, dressing and preparing them for their day
  • Washing, bathing, showering, grooming.
  • Working with other care professionals such as District Nurses, GPs, etc.
  • Assisting with prescribed medication
  • Preparation of meals and assistance with feeding
  • Shopping and supplies management
