What's life like for our Senior Support Workers?

You will deliver a first class support to all our service users, assisting them with daily living activities and enabling them to be part of their community and supporting their independence.

How I do my job...

It's about the  service users
Our service users are at the heart of what we do and excellent support is really important to us. You'll be assisting and spending time with our service users; listening and demonstrating a genuine  interest in their needs; helping to put them at their ease and providing valuable help in supporting their independence

You'll be enthusiastic with a strong interest in providing quality support and responding in a positive way to service user ' needs and requests. 
It's about Teamwork 
You'll be a "team player" and enjoy being part of a wider team. You'll be a role model to your colleagues, identifying ways to help them and take action to make sure that they deliver their best and exceed our service user expectations. 
It's about Learning
you’ll get behind the Encompass brand. We will provide the tools that you need, helping to keep you up to date on the latest training and skills required to care for our service users

The Individual

Genuinely want to help people.

  • Be flexible 
  • Have NVQ Level 2 in Care and working towards NVQ 3
  • Have an understanding of and commitment to a human needs based approach to service user support
  • Have experience in working with people with learning disabilities
  • Have supervisory and organisational skills.
  • Have sound communication skills.
  • Have self /staff motivation skills.
  • Have ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Be willing to undertake additional appropriate training including management/supervisory competencies
  • Remain calm under pressure, and be optimistic and positive. 
  • Be keen to ask questions to understand the service user ' needs
  • Be reliable and conscientious, completing tasks and not leaving it for others. 
  • Enjoy sharing knowledge to help 
  • Have Mature attitude with good sense of humour.
