To work as a member of the team, in the provision of care treatment and support for elderly people, with an aim to maximise the potential of Service Users in line with their activities of daily living. To share with other staff in meeting the personal needs of Service Users in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence.

Principle responsibilities:

  • Assist the Care Manager in the implementation of the philosophies and policies of HomeCare Finder Ltd
  • Personal Care:
  • Help with washing /shaving.
  • Help with dressing.
  • Provide medication support as per the service users care & support plan & document using appropriate key on the service user care flow sheets keep in their Service User Guide
  • Helping to manage incontinence.
  • Assist with toileting.
  • Help with bathing if required and in accordance with Homecare Finder’s policies.
  • Help with feeding.
  • Help with getting in and out of bed.
  • Cooking and preparation of food as requested
  • Domestic Care:
  • Housework.
  • Cleaning
  • Washing clothes. Utilising a washing machine – no hand washing of soiled clothes.
  • Ironing.
  • Making Beds, empty commodes.
  • Social Care:
  • Feeding and exercising pets.
  • Collecting Pensions.
  • Shopping in accords with Homecare Finders Policies.
  • Motivating clients.
  • Writing letters.
  • Helping to sort out basic household accounts in accordance with HomeCare Finder policies.
  • Acting as a companion.
  • Providing respite for family


  • Help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of Service Users through talking to them, taking them out, helping them with hobbies and recreations
  • To maintain a safe and pleasant environment and contribute to the control of infection in clinical work areas. Infection Control - All employees have an individual responsibility to have knowledge of and employ the basic principles of infection control practice and to ensure adherence to the requirements of HomeCare Finders Infection Control Policy.Healthcare workers are accountable for their standards of practice and are expected to challenge non-compliance when observed to protect service Users and promote safety.
  • Carry out assigned record keeping as directed
  • Promote fluid intake and good nutrition
  • Inspect and collect Service Users clothing for laundering.
  • Respect confidentiality at all times.
  • Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off-site, as and when required. Undertake NVQ level 2 as soon as is reasonably practicable.
  • Report immediately to the Care Manager, or Deputy, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Service User, colleague, self or another.
  • Report to the Office, any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard and ensure all equipment is clean before use.
  • Report untoward incidents, accidents and any other relevant information to the Care Manager as per HomeCare Finders critical incidents policy.
  • Promote safe working practice
  • Understand, and ensure the implementation of, HomeCare Finders Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.
  • Promote and ensure the good reputation of HomeCare Finder Ltd
  • Ensure that all information of a confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties.
  • Notify the Care Manager, office on-call service, as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty, and also on your return to work from all periods of absence.
  • Adhere to all HomeCare Finder’s policies and procedures.
  • Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you.
