Due to growth in Essex, we are now looking for compassionate Home Carers to join our friendly team.
 

The Role

As a Home Carer, you will visit clients in their own homes and support them with day-to-day tasks so they can stay independent, safe and comfortable. You’ll be a familiar, friendly face and a real source of reassurance for clients and their families.

This is a community-based role, so you will be travelling between calls within your local area.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide personal care (washing, dressing, toileting) with dignity and respect

  • Assist with mobility, safe transfers and use of equipment (e.g. hoists, frames, stairlifts – full training given)

  • Prompt and assist with medication in line with care plans

  • Prepare meals, snacks and drinks and support with eating and drinking

  • Support with light domestic tasks such as laundry, tidying and cleaning

  • Offer companionship – chatting, listening, providing emotional support

  • Accompany clients to appointments or community activities where required

  • Record clear, accurate notes after each visit using our care system
     

    About You

    You don’t need previous professional care experience – full training is provided – but you do need the right values.

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a car is highly desirable for this role as you will be visiting clients in their homes across Essex.

  • Are reliable, punctual and take pride in doing a good job

  • Can follow care plans and instructions carefully

  • Have good communication skills and a professional manner

  • Are comfortable working alone in the community and as part of a wider team

    Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check

  • Ability to work some weekends and/or evenings on a rota basis

  • Essential:

  • Physically able to assist with personal care and mobility (after training)

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Willing to complete an enhanced DBS check and mandatory training
  • Desirable (but not essential – full training provided):
  • Previous experience as a Care Assistant / Support Worker / Home Carer
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car for work
  • Experience working with older people or adults with disabilities / long-term conditions
  • Knowledge of dementia care
  • end-of-life care or moving & handling
  • Care Certificate or other health & social care qualifications (e.g. NVQ/QCF Level 2/3)
