Premier Homecare in Bristol rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission

Westbury-on-Trym and Stoke Bishop based Premier Homecare Limited has been rated ‘Outstanding’ for the overall quality of personal care and support provided to people living in their own homes, following a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)

Carried out in August 2017 CQC inspectors rated the company as overall ‘Outstanding’ putting it in the top 2% of best Adult Social Care Providers in England, and the first and only general domiciliary home care provider to be rated ‘Outstanding’ in Bristol.

Against the backdrop of recent reports citing poor standards of care in England, Premier Homecare received additional praise for being rated as ‘Outstanding’ for providing ‘Safe’ and ‘Well-Led’ care. This was endorsed by clients, and particularly relatives who live out of the area and were not on hand to oversee directly the care of a loved one.

The below demonstrates Premier Homecare’s achievements; only 2% of Adult Social Care Providers in England, to have achieved an ‘Outstanding’ Rating.

Judith Swindells Registered Manager and Director for Premier Homecare Limited said:

“We are absolutely delighted the quality of our service has been recognised by the Care Quality Commission in this way, and is testament to the hard work, talent and dedication of the whole team who over the last 14 years have strived continually to provide the best home care and support available in North West Bristol.”

Judith went on to say:

“Being the first and only domiciliary care provider in Bristol to be rated ‘Outstanding’ is an honour and an inspiration to the whole team to not only maintain our standards, but to improve them further. We are proud for ourselves and delighted for Bristol such care is possible; we have shown this and will continue to work hard to raise the standards of care available to the people in our area.”

Debbie Ivanova, Deputy Chief Inspector for Adult Social Care (South), said:

“I was pleased to read how Premier Homecare Limited gives an outstanding service to the people it cares for. I am struck by the extent to which the manager had focused on ensuring safety alongside independence.”

“The team should be incredibly and extremely proud of the work they do. I congratulate the staff at Premier Homecare Limited for achieving our highest rating.”

Inspectors found that Premier Homecare worked in partnership with other organisations to make sure they followed current best practices to provide consistent high quality service. The service also demonstrated how they continually strived for excellence through consultation, research and reflective practice.

Clients were found to be fully protected because risk management plans were in place to reduce or mitigated the risks associated with the care of people within their own environment, and people benefitted from a person centred service which actively sought their views and promoted individual well-being, inclusion and openness. Premier Homecare’s vision and values were consistently demonstrated by staff in their interactions with clients and each other.

Premier Homecare Limited has served the people of North West Bristol since 2003 and provides a number of services from cleaning and shopping to companionship, personal care, the administration of medicines and Live-In Care, with visit length starting from 45 minutes.
