Background of the Service Holywell Care Services is a CQC-registered domiciliary care provider, authorized to deliver services under the regulated activities of Personal Care and Treatment of Disease, Disorder, or Injury (TDDI).
Building on our expertise, we are expanding our scope of services to include crisis intervention for children and families. This service aims to prevent family breakdowns, minimize the risk of children being placed in care, safeguard children during crises, and empower families with the skills and support necessary for stability and growth.
Our approach is rooted in the belief that, with the right support, families can navigate challenges, foster resilience, and lead fulfilling lives without having interventions to place children in care after completing necessary risk assessments.
Aims and Objectives The core objectives of our crisis intervention service are: • Preventing Family Separation: Support families to resolve crises and avoid situations that may lead to children being removed from their homes. • Promoting Stability: Strengthen family dynamics through tailored interventions that foster positive relationships and sustainable outcomes. • Empowering Families: Provide parents and guardians with knowledge and practical strategies to care for their children effectively. • Safeguarding Children: Ensure the safety and well-being of children during challenging times, prioritizing their best interests. • Building Resilience: Help children and families develop the skills and confidence needed to manage future challenges independently. Our service is person-centered, compassionate, and evidence-based, ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and families.
The People Who Use the Service This service is designed for: • Children and Young People: Aged 5–18 years, experiencing emotional, behavioural, or relational crises requiring immediate intervention. • Families: Parents, guardians, and caregivers who need support to navigate crises, address behavioural challenges, or improve family dynamics.
We also work with families subject to Child in Need (CIN) plans, Child Protection (CP) plans, Public Law Outline (PLO), or Interim Care Orders (ICO), ensuring children’s safety while helping parents demonstrate their ability to care for their children.
Our crisis intervention service includes: Crisis Interventions • In-Home Support: Immediate response to crises within the family’s home, addressing urgent behavioural, emotional, or relational challenges. • Positive Behavioural Support (PBS): A person-centered approach to help children manage behavioural issues and promote positive interactions. • Mental Health and Well-Being: Advice and strategies to support children’s mental health and emotional resilience. • Life Skills Development: Practical and emotional support for families to develop independent living and coping skills.
Parenting Support and Assessments • Observational Assessments: In-home assessments using evidence-based methods (e.g., traffic light grading systems) to evaluate parenting capabilities and identify areas for improvement. • Direct Work with Families: Providing parents with personalized strategies and resources to enhance parenting skills. • Safeguarding Focus: Highlighting and addressing any risks to children while supporting families to create safe and nurturing environments.
