Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback on your experience. It is so heartening to hear the positive impact the care professionals have on the lives of clients. Many of our care professionals are paid for the time they spend with clients, the travel time to get their and expenses incurred, so if a visit is cancelled, they are not paid.
The schedules are organised two weeks in advance so they know what they will be earning. A visit being cancelled has a direct impact on what they earn. The two-week notice is to safeguard their income. In many cases, if someone wishes to change the time of a visit we will endeavour to do this and there won't be an extra charge. When cancelling the service in full, in the case of someone moving to an alternative residence it is very unusual for this to take less than two weeks to arrange, however not in your mum's case, so the care professionals went to the house to do some cleaning and also to visit your mum in the care home, which I believe she appreciated.
