Yes, it did take a while to gain her trust but eventually, she did allow us to visit her and immediately she was hooked. Very quickly if the 'match' between Client and caregiver is right all fear and trepidation disappears very quickly. It is hard to let strangers in our own homes but here at Home Instead, our recruitment process is thorough together with our training.  However, what we look for initially is passion - people who want to deliver top-quality care with compassion and empathy.  When our caregivers arrive for their interview they have to pass the 'Mum or Dad' test.  Would we like him or her to support our own parents?  If the answer is 'no' they will not pass the recruitment process.
