Job summary
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to
join our team in providing high-quality support to individuals in a
care home setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for
assisting residents with their daily activities, ensuring their
comfort and well-being, and promoting a positive living environment.
This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to
follow care plans effectively.
Duties
- Assist residents with living independently in their own home.
- Support individuals with mobility and daily living activities to enhance their independence.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other team members to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to senior staff.
- Follow individual care plans tailored to each resident’s needs and preferences.
- Drive residents to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to continuously improve care practices.
- Uphold the dignity and respect of all residents while fostering a warm and friendly atmosphere within the care home.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to work independently when required.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and communicating with team members effectively.
- A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting residents as needed.
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need.
