Redditch-based software company Unique IQ is celebrating a double-whammy of awards nominations this week, having been shortlisted for two prestigious awards which recognise innovation in care.
The technology firm, which specialises in remote workforce management systems for the home care industry, has been selected as a finalist in the ‘Innovation in Technology’ category of the LaingBuisson Awards and shortlisted for ‘technology in-home care’ at the leaders in care awards. Both nominations put Unique IQ amongst the most innovative technology suppliers operating in health and social care right now.
Known as ‘the Oscars of the health and social industry’, the LaingBuisson awards showcase the very best in care provision, innovation and leadership in the public, private and third sectors. Meanwhile, the Leaders in Care Awards honour the providers that have gone above and beyond in delivering exceptional care over the last 12 months.
Unique IQ has been recognised for its IQ:careplanner and IQ:timecard systems, including its mobile app – software which is helping to digitise the numerous manual processes involved in providing care for people in their own homes. This includes creating staff rotas, producing personal care plans, monitoring staff attendance and managing medicines.
The Worcestershire-based enterprise counts several Care Quality Commission ‘Outstanding’ rated domiciliary care agencies amongst its client base, as well as serving the contract cleaning and facilities management markets.
Managing director of Unique IQ, David Lynes, said: “it’s a real honour to be recognised by both the LaingBuisson and Leaders In Care awards, and to be counted amongst the most innovative technology suppliers serving the UK home care industry.”
David continues: “Our aim at Unique IQ is to provide solutions that help streamline processes, reduce costs, and fundamentally make the day-to-day activities of care workers easier through technology – whilst supporting them to deliver world-class care to the people who need it.
“Nominations for awards like Leaders in Care and LaingBuisson tell us that we’re well on our way to achieving this.” The nominations follow a highly successful 12 months for Unique IQ. After receiving scale-up investment from venture capital firm Midven in late 2018, as part of the Midlands Engine Investment Fund, the team has expanded significantly, with turnover this year expected to double.
The company has bolstered its team in the areas of sales, marketing, customer support and business administration, as well as adding to its software development function. Substantial new product features have ensued, including major developments in digital care management, which the LaingBuisson and Leaders in Care awards have recognised.
