The National Society for Epilepsy is a charity whose objective is to advance research, treatment, care, understanding and support for people with epilepsy nationwide. It is recognised by the World Health Organisation as a centre of excellence. Services include: medical clinics and assessment centre in conjunction with the National Hospital for Neurology and among the world's leading authorities in epilepsy and research includes causes, effects and treatment of epilepsy; residential and respite care for adults with epilepsy and other disabilities; rehabilitation and supported housing; information and education; provides a telephone helpline (01494 601400), comprehensive leaflets, videos and epilepsy updates; accredited training for health professionals; community network; associate membership; members receive regular information on treatment, research and topics of interest.
