I have used Helping Hands local team for nearly a year as after my mum passed away and I was sole carer for my father as well as working full time, the team of Sue and Sam in the office are excellent and are always available to answer any questions I have or any additions or changes to dad's care plan. The team that visit my dad are brilliant and understand his needs and it goes ves me peace of mind that he is being cared for with dignity when I'm not a available, they also assist to take him to his weekly appointments as well as some companionship whilst living on his own, I don't know where I would be without them. Yes it isn't cheap and we pay directly for the service but it is well worth the peace of mind..thank you to all of the team
Nicola,
We are delighted to hear that Sue, Sam, and the local care team have provided the support and peace of mind you need. It is wonderful to know that our carers have been able to make a positive difference...
My Dad had Helping Hands visiting care for 2 years then Live in care with support from visiting care for his final year. Throughout the local team were responsive to any query or problem and took trouble to sort things out thoroughly and effectively. I felt they worked well with me as the primary family member but were also able to direct me when needed. The visiting carers were all excellent and most had been with the company for a long time. They had excellent rapport with Dad and treated him with respect and dignity. They never rushed him or made him feel a nuiscance. They were professional, called district nurses when needed, and worked well with the live-in carers. The live-in care worked better when transferred from the central to the local office. Sue is a fantastic team leader and manager, with a personal interest in her clients. She dealt with issues decisively and effectively. Dad died peacefully at home entirely thanks to HH Middlesbrough, and we will always be grateful.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we really do appreciate it.We are happy to hear through out your Dads journey with Helping Hands the local team worked well with yourself and were responsive to any query or problem, resolving these thoroughly and effectively. And it is great that...
Overall my experience has been very good and carers in most cases exceptional.
I have found the quality and performance of the carers very professional. The response when I contact the office is always prompt and my queries are dealt with in a satisfactory manner. The fees are on the high side but you get what you pay for.
The carer from helping hands was visiting my mam to take her out. She smelt gas and alerted the gas board who turned up within the hour to discover a leak and isolated the gas. If it had not been for her, I dread to think what could have happened to mam. I cannot thank her enough for being vigilant, acting immediately and potentially saving mams life. These carers are not just carers they are empathetic, understand the needs of those in need and in my eyes guardian angels looking after our loved ones. I live away in London and knowing these caring helping hands are looking after my mam is a great comfort to me. I cannot thank her enough and the rest of the team are truly amazing. Thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Good afternoon, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a heartfelt review. We are absolutely delighted to hear about the incredible care your mum received from our carer. It's truly humbling to know that her vigilance and quick actions helped prevent a potentially dangerous situation....
I have only good things to say about the care I have. My carer seems to know what I need before I say anything. She just gets on with it. We have a very good relationship, she pushes me to do things, for my own good, when I don't feel like it. On the whole, I thank her for it. The only thing I could complain about is getting the weekly invoice, it's a waste of paper.
Needs are always met at such high standards. Can't thank the staff enough for everything they do.
Certainly won't be disappointed.
Thank you so much for leaving such a lovely review for us! I'm beyond pleased to hear how happy you are with our service and that our needs are always met at such high standards! We can't thank you enough for your kind feedback.
Best wishes.

About me
I joined the care industry when my children became independent as I wanted to make a difference in people's lives and enable them to live independently and safely at home. I quickly built up professional relationships in the care sector and enjoyed the role of carer, this then inspired me to climb the career ladder, eventually taking the role of Branch Manager.
I am proud to work for Helping Hands as it is a very family-orientated company with high values, plus the training and support are outstanding. I feel my team of carers are compassionate about their role and I am able to guide them along thier journey. If I come across any obstacles then I will gain support to enable us to work together as a team.
I have been married for 35 years and have 3 children, who have now provided us with 6 grandchildren. I enjoy rugby and support Saint Helens rugby league, and I like to attend the games when I am able to. I also enjoy holidays abroad and spending time with our friends at weekends.
Experience and expertise
In March 2019 I decided to take a step back in my career due to the passing of my mum and needing to focus on my family, this is when I joined Helping Hands as a care coordinator. I feel I had a very successful role and built great relationships with customers and staff, then in November of 2021, I moved into the role of Branch Manager, as I felt I had a good team to work alongside me. I have a level 5 qualification in Health and Social care, an advanced level 4 in Management, an NVQ 2 and 3 in Health and Social care, as well as a computer literacy and IT certificate. I have been a carer and senior carer in the community, enabling people to remain as independently as possible and safe in their own homes. I have also been a review officer, and within this role I was resposible for carrying out reviews with all customers and ensuring their support plans were person-centered. I then became a care coordinator which included preparing rotas for specific geographical areas, ensuring all customers received their calls on time and with continuity of care. I have been a care manager, which included working with multi disciplinary teams, liaising with social workers, inputting new customers into a data base and running a weekly payroll. I am now a registered manager which involves the safe running of a branch and being accountable for the service, whilst also growing and developing the business. I have a number of staff to support and ensure compliance is adhered to.
Branch Care Manager
I am looking forward to growing the branch with more customers, to help people remain safe at home, as well as a good team of carers with compassion and pride in what they do. I am passionate about my job and complete it to the best of my ability. I feel I have a good relationship with all my customers and carers and have a great respect for my staff, as without them we would not be successful.
