About the Role

As a Care Worker with Fuchsia Homecare Norwich, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our customers’ daily routines, helping them maintain independence and comfort in their own homes. Here’s what a typical day might look like:

  • Morning Routine (starting around 7 am): Begin the day with morning visits to 4-5 customers, spending 30 minutes to an hour per visit, depending on each customer’s needs.
  • Lunchtime Visits: Assist with lunchtime routines, including meals and companionship.
  • Afternoon Break (2 – 4 pm): Recharge before your evening visits.
  • Teatime and Evening Visits (finishing around 9:30/10 pm): Help customers with meals, settling for the night, and ensuring they’re comfortable.

Travel time between customers is usually no more than 15 minutes, allowing you to focus on providing quality care.

Flexibility for Your Lifestyle

We understand that flexibility matters. With a zero-hour contract, we offer a work schedule based on your availability, allowing you to work full-time hours or fewer each week. Whether you prefer a busy schedule or fewer hours, we can tailor shifts around your commitments.

Occasional Night Sits

While night sits are not very common in domiciliary care, we may occasionally offer them to provide respite support for informal (non-paid) carers looking after our customers. These are usually planned in advance and offered to staff who are available and comfortable with overnight work.

More Opportunities for Drivers

While we’re recruiting both drivers and non-drivers, there are additional work opportunities for drivers due to the flexibility they bring in reaching more customers across different locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Care Work: Ideally, we’re looking for candidates with some previous experience in care or a related field. Compassion, reliability, and a genuine desire to support others are essential.
  • Driver’s Licence (required for drivers): For travel between customers
  • Right to Work in the UK:
  • We have a limited number of sponsorship spaces available for individuals who are already in the UK and eligible to switch visas (for example, from a student, graduate, or dependent visa).
  • If you are a displaced worker or facing a difficult situation and believe you may be eligible for sponsorship, please contact Norfolk Care Association (NorCa) at . They will be able to assess your circumstances and advise on the next steps..

What We Offer:

  • Competitive Pay: £12.50 - £19.50 per hour, plus mileage (35p per mile)
  • Bonuses: Birthday, Christmas, Yearly, and Refer-a-Friend Bonuses
  • Career Development: Opportunities to grow within our expanding company
  • A supportive and inclusive work environment that respects and values diversity, including support for staff with disabilities or health conditions.
