Job summary
As a Home Care Worker, you do one of the most important jobs in the community today. You help other people to retain as much independence as possible. At the same time, your presence indicates your client’s dependence. Promoting independence and providing a dependent service is not easy, and skill, sensitivity, kindness and above all humour is required. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and possess strong interpersonal skills. Duties include providing personal care, Domestic, shopping, meal preparation, social calls and any other tasks required. This is a community based role - Area's to cover – Vale of Glamorgan: Barry, Dinas Powys & Sully. Drivers will be required to hold a full UK driving licence with use of your own vehicle. Applications from non drivers also considered for the role.
Good sound knowledge of the areas within the Vale and use of own vehicle would be an advantage. Drivers preferred, walkers considered if situated locally.
Previous experience would be an advantage but training will be provided.

What you can expect from us:
We understand that every member of our team has their own family to care for and this is why our role offers the flexibility to work around your own home life. You can choose between full-time or part-time work; all you have to do is simply tell us your availability. Although we try to be flexible where we can, we do require you to be flexible with us too, that’s why we will require you to work an agreed availability, including every other weekend.

Skills / Qualifications:
- NVQ 2/QCF in Health & Social Care preferred but other candidates will be considered depending on experience. Support to work towards QCF L2.
- Registration with Social Care Wales is required and support will be given to do this during induction. This post will result in you having substantial contact with the elderly
