The Role
We have a highly rewarding complex care care role to support a young customer living with cerebral palsy in their home in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire.
This role involves providing tailored, compassionate care to assist
with daily activities, promote independence, and enhance their overall
quality of life within the comfort of their home environment and
community.
Principal Responsibilities

Show up with a smile to provide companionship and build trust with customer and family.

To assist with getting up and going to bed in the morning and evenings.

Support with personal care including showering, getting dressed and toileting.

Administering of medication.

Preparation of meals and assistance with feeding.

Basic upkeep of living space like making of bed, loading and unloading of dishwasher.

Taking customer to appointments in the community including doctor’s appointments, supermarket visits, bowling, etc.

Maintain records of each visit and report changes to the office in a timely manner.
Person Specification
This role is ideal for a calm, confident individual who easily
build trust and maintain dignity in care. The successful candidate
will be assertive and able to maintain clear boundaries while
encouraging positive routines and supporting the client’s
independence. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll
need to effectively engage with clients, the office, promote
structure, and foster relationships.
Able to use positive encouragement and creative methods to help the
client take part in daily routines, social activities, and therapy,
even if they are initially resistant.
Shows good problem-solving
skills by understanding situations and making thoughtful decisions to
support the client’s safety, wellbeing, and independence.
It is desirable, but not necessary to have previous experience of learning disabilities and epilepsy. It would also be helpful to have an interest in films, music and craft.
Working Hours:
This role follows a weekly shift pattern which is subject to
vary each week within the core hours. The hours of work varies
within the core hours of 9am to 10pm.
