Weekend Care Assistant

Job summary

Doris Jones is looking for Weekend Care Assistants to join our dedicated community team in Southend-on-Sea, Essex and the surrounding areas, covering Southend, Shoebury, Leigh-on-Sea, Benfleet, and everywhere in between - on a permanent basis.

Weekend shifts available between 7am–1pm and 4pm–10pm, Saturday and Sunday.

About the role:
As a Weekend Care Assistant, you’ll make a real difference to people’s lives. You’ll support individuals with daily tasks, promote independence, and offer meaningful companionship – always maintaining dignity, privacy and respect. Whether working solo or as part of a pair, you’ll report directly to a Care Supervisor and be a key part of our close-knit team.

It is essential for this role that you hold a driving licence and access to a car for work, as well as willingness to undertake enhanced DBS check.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Supporting with personal care, preparing meals, and assisting with medication
• Providing emotional support and friendly companionship
• Working with healthcare professionals to deliver individualised care plans
• Keeping clear, accurate records and sharing important updates with the care team
• Encouraging clients to take part in social and therapeutic activities
