Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to
provide essential support and care to individuals in various settings,
including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private
homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care and a
strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they
serve. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities,
ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety during movement.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client health status.
- Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Assist with behaviour management for clients with specific needs such as dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- PMVA training (or willingness to complete) is required for this role.
Skills / Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 Certification in Health & Social Care
- Experience in personal in clients home is highly essential
- Knowledge of patient care practices
- including hospice and senior care
- Familiarity with Alzheimer's care
- Working with dementia clients and behavioural manageent techniques
- Proficient in first aid and CPR techniques
- Strong caregiving skills with the ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to drive with access to own car
