Job summary

HOPE Superjobs is actively recruiting Support Workers / Healthcare Assistants to provide care in community supported living and home care settings. We support children, young people, and adults, including individuals with complex needs and disabilities.

We receive a high volume of referrals in Essex. While Essex is the primary base, staff will be expected to work mainly in Basildon, Braintree, Brentwood, Castle Point, Colchester, Chelmsford, Epping Forest, Harlow, Maldon, Rochford, Tendring & Uttlesford. 

Role Summary:

As a Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant, you will deliver person-centred care and support that promotes independence, dignity, and wellbeing. Your role may include working in service users’ homes or supported living settings, providing personal care, assisting with medication, and supporting daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and continence care.
  • Support with medication as per care plans and training.
  • Assist with feeding, meal prep, and dietary needs.
  • Promote independence and engage clients in daily routines and social activities.
  • Record care visits and report concerns or incidents promptly.
  • Work respectfully with families, team members, and other professionals.
  • Follow safeguarding protocols and ensure safety at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in a similar care role is beneficial but not essential – full training provided.
  • Reliable, compassionate, and flexible individuals.
  • Willingness to work across Essex.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and upholding privacy and dignity.
  • Good communication and basic record-keeping skills.
