Job summary

Key Tasks: Providing support to our clients to enable independent within their own homes. Recognise, respect, and uphold our company values of dignified, respectful, honest and dependable care.  Providing our client’s with dignity and choice whilst promoting independence in line with Daily Care Suffolk’s policies & procedures. This role requires the applicant to drive and have use of a car.

We are looking for candidates who have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in care and who have a genuine interest in the well-being and care of the elderly. The ability to socialise with people at all levels without prejudice or discrimination. Candidates will also need the ability to record information accurately and concisely using a digital care planning app, be able to work flexibly as a team or individually and be confident in liaising with families, clients and management. Good time management is essential to this role.

•  To encourage independent living at home with respect, choice, dignity and safety

•  Help with personal care, toileting, bathing, showering, and dressing.

•  Assisting with mobility and the use of mobility aids when appropriate

•  To prepare meals that are nutritionally balanced and provide support and encouragement to eat.

•  To prompt and ensure regular fluid intake.

•  Collection of shopping and prescriptions

•  Maintaining cleanliness within the clients’ home

•  Accompanying to Doctor’s, hospital appointment etc.

•  Providing clear and accurate records of visits – in both electronic and paper forms

•  Identifying care needs and liaising with the manager, care coordinator and other staff to maintain the welfare and confidentiality of clients.

•  Participation in ongoing training

•  Participation in staff meetings, performance management, supervisions and appraisals

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Care Certificate
  • NVQs in health and social care
  • No experience required as training can be given
