We are now seeking a passionate, experienced, and registered Children’s Home Manager to lead our home in Burton upon Trent.

The Role

As Children’s Home Manager, you will have full operational responsibility for the home, ensuring outstanding care, strong leadership, and full regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide inspirational leadership to a multidisciplinary staff team

  • Ensure the home meets and exceeds Ofsted and Children’s Homes Regulations standards

  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for young people

  • Oversee care planning, risk management, and safeguarding practices

  • Recruit, develop, and supervise staff to a high standard

  • Manage budgets, rotas, and resources effectively

  • Build positive relationships with placing authorities, professionals, and families

  • Lead the home through inspections and quality assurance processes

About You

We’re looking for someone who combines strong leadership with genuine compassion and resilience.

Essential Requirements:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a residential children’s home, including leadership/management experience

  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted frameworks, safeguarding, and legislation

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience managing homes rated Good or Outstanding

  • Therapeutic or trauma-informed care background
