Job summary

To support the Registered Manager in delivering a high-quality, safe and person-centred domiciliary care service in line with CQC regulations and company policies. The Field Care Supervisor is responsible for overseeing care delivery in the community, supporting care staff, maintaining compliance standards, and ensuring service users receive consistently high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Conduct regular spot checks and competency observations of care staff in the field

  • Complete and document supervisions and probation reviews

  • Review and update care plans and risk assessments

  • Ensure care delivery aligns with CQC fundamental standards

  • Monitor MAR charts and daily records for accuracy and compliance

  • Identify and report safeguarding concerns promptly

Service User Care Oversight

  • Carry out initial assessments (where required)

  • Participate in care reviews with service users and families

  • Respond to service user queries or concerns professionally

  • Ensure person-centred care plans are followed

Staff Support & Development

  • Provide ongoing guidance and mentorship to care staff

  • Support new staff during induction and shadow shifts

  • Identify training needs and report to management

  • Promote a positive, accountable and supportive team culture

Operational Duties

  • Support rota management and emergency cover where necessary

  • Participate in on-call duties (if applicable)

  • Assist in investigating incidents and complaints

  • Ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting

Delivering Care

  • Provide direct care support where required

  • Lead by example in delivering safe, compassionate care

Skills / Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently
  • Full driving license and access to own vechile
  • Strong knowledge of CQC standards
