Job description:

Pay: £13 per hour

Shift pattern: 2 hours morning and 2 hours afternoon - 4 hours daily - Mon - Sun 28 hours a week 7 days a week

Location: Local community & family homes (Leicestershire area)

Job Overview

Rafah Healthcare is recruiting Domiciliary Support Workers to provide 1:1 and 2:1 support to children and young people with additional and complex needs in their own homes and in the community.

Visits are short support sessions (usually 2 hours per call), therefore applicants must live locally or be able to travel reliably between clients.

This is a rewarding role for compassionate and reliable individuals who want to make a genuine difference to children’s lives.

Families expect carers to:

  • Build a positive relationship with both the child and parent/carer
  • Be proactive and use initiative
  • Suggest activities and engagement strategies
  • Work collaboratively with the family
  • Help support behaviour regulation and independence

You must be comfortable communicating with parents and discussing ideas to better support the child.

  • Physical Disabilities
  • Limited or non-verbal communication

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Provide person-centred care and emotional support
  • Support children at home and in the community
  • Build rapport and trust with the child and family
  • Assist with activities, play, and engagement
  • Support routines and independence skills
  • Attend outings, appointments, and community activities
  • Provide personal care where required (training provided)
  • Follow care plans, behaviour strategies, and risk assessments
  • Record observations and feedback after visits
  • Follow safeguarding procedures at all times
