Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-in Carer to
provide personalised care and support to clients in their own homes.
The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life
for individuals requiring assistance with daily activities, offering
companionship, and ensuring their safety and wellbeing. This role
offers an opportunity to work closely with clients, delivering
tailored care in a respectful and professional manner. The position
requires living on-site, providing continuous support, and fostering a
trusting relationship with clients.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised patient care, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Administer medication accurately in accordance with prescribed schedules
- Assist with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met and dietary restrictions are observed
- Support clients with assisted living needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive impairments
- Manage behaviour effectively and employ behaviour management techniques as required
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental wellbeing
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Support mobility through heavy lifting or transferring when necessary
- Drive clients to appointments or outings using personal or company vehicle (if qualified)
- Maintain detailed records of care provided and report any changes in health or behaviour to relevant healthcare professionals
Skills
- Proven experience in senior care, home care, or nursing home environments
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and dementia care practices
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on patient safety and comfort
- First aid certification is desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
- Excellent organisational skills for medication administration and care planning
- Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively and professionally
- Driving licence is advantageous for transportation duties
- Childcare experience or skills can be beneficial for specific client needs
