Job Summary
We are looking for a caring, reliable and compassionate night support worker to join our care home team. This is an important role supporting residents throughout the night, helping to ensure their comfort, dignity, safety and wellbeing. If you are calm under pressure, committed to high-quality care, and able to work effectively as part of a team, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide high-quality care and support to residents during the night shift.
· Assist residents with personal care needs, including hygiene, continence, mobility and dressing where required.
· Carry out regular wellbeing and safety checks and respond promptly to call bells or emergencies.
· Maintain accurate care records and report any changes in residents’ condition to senior staff.
· Promote residents’ dignity, independence, privacy and choice at all times.
· Support a calm, safe and comfortable night-time environment within the home.
· Follow individual care plans, safeguarding procedures, infection control guidance, and health and safety policies.
· Undertake light domestic duties as required during quieter periods of the shift.
· Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure effective handovers and consistent care.
About You
· Previous experience in care, support work, or a similar health and social care setting is desirable.
· A kind, patient and respectful approach to supporting older people and vulnerable adults.
· Good communication and record-keeping skills.
· Ability to work independently during night shifts and respond appropriately to changing situations.
· Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, dignity in care, and person-centred support.
· Willingness to complete relevant training and maintain high professional standards.
· A flexible and dependable attitude, including availability for nights, weekends and bank holidays where required.
· Relevant care qualifications are desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
