Job Summary
Field Care Supervisor
Location: Woking
Salary: £34,000 per year + overtime.
Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week – shift pattern to cover AM/PM and weekends.
Reports to: Registered Manager / Care Coordinator
Immediate start available.
About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, proactive, and organised Field Care Supervisor to support the delivery of high-quality domiciliary care services.
This varied role combines office-based responsibilities with community-based support, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care. You will supervise and develop Care Workers, conduct quality assurance activities, review care plans, support compliance, and maintain excellent service standards.
You will also provide direct care support when required to cover staff shortages, emergencies, annual leave, or unexpected service demands. As part of the management team, you will participate in the on-call rota (1 week in 5), including weekend cover.
Key Responsibilities
Quality, Compliance & Care Delivery
- Supervise, support, and develop Care Workers through observations, spot checks, supervisions, and competency assessments.
- Complete client assessments, risk assessments, and moving and handling assessments.
- Review and update care plans to ensure they remain accurate, person-centred, and compliant.
- Monitor service delivery to ensure compliance with CQC regulations, company policies, and best practice.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
- Support audits, inspections, safeguarding processes, and continuous service improvement.
Staff Recruitment & Development
- Support recruitment, interviews, induction, and onboarding of new Care Workers.
- Conduct shadow shifts, probation reviews, supervisions, and annual competency assessments.
- Identify training needs and provide coaching, mentoring, and practical guidance, including moving and handling support.
- Promote a positive culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Client & Community Support
- Conduct client reviews and reassessments to ensure care remains appropriate and effective.
- Liaise with clients, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
- Spend time in the community supporting staff, carrying out spot checks, observation calls, and service reviews.
- Support day-to-day office operations and work closely with the Registered Manager and Care Coordinators.
Emergency Cover & On-Call
- Provide direct care support during staffing shortages, sickness, annual leave, or emergencies.
- Respond effectively to service delivery issues and ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in the management on-call rota (1 week in 5), including weekends.
Essential Requirements
- Experience within domiciliary care.
- Previous supervisory experience (Senior Carer, Team Leader, Field Care Supervisor, Care Coordinator, or similar).
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding, risk management, and person-centred care.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and care management systems.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle essential
- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) necessary
