To provide high-quality, person-centred live-in care and support to clients in their own homes, promoting independence, dignity, safety, and wellbeing at all times.

Job Title:   Healthcare Assistant.

Setting:   Client’s Homes, not a care home.

Location:   Dartford, Gravesend, Longfield, and surrounding areas.

Reporting to:  Registered Manager and Care Coordinator.

Shifts:   Monday to Friday and alternate weekends.

Key Responsibilities

Clearly communicate and liaise with the office staff regarding attendance, travelling, and responsibilities

Provide emotional and social support

Carefully read care plans

Write honest, correct, and accurate reports

Assist and administer medication, including monitoring health conditions such as diabetes and blood pressure

Assist with hygiene: showering, washing, bathing, dressing, undressing

Assist with the mobility of a client, including the use of equipment such as hoists and standing aids, moving about their home, and getting out and about

Continence support

Hair and nail care

Assist with nutrition/ hydration needs, such as preparing meals and drinks; assisting those unable to feed themselves; ensuring each client receives quality meals/ diets they have requested/ food suitable for their needs

Health and Safety:

Complete any training that is given

Clearly communicate and liaise with the office staff regarding attendance, travelling, and responsibilities

Carefully read care plans to be aware of an individual’s needs.

Write correct, honest, and accurate reports

Actively communicate with management teams, clients’ families, and other disciplinary teams

Professional Conduct:

Actively promote a person-centred approach by liaising with family, loved ones, friends, and multi-disciplinary teams

Ensure safe and effective care is always carried out

Book appointments and accompany clients to them

Maintain confidentiality at all times

Always obtain consent
