About the role

As a Community Care Assistant, you will visit people in their own homes and provide compassionate, person-centred support based on their individual needs and care plans.

No two days will be exactly the same. Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting with washing, dressing and other personal care
• Assisting with medication once trained and assessed as competent
• Preparing meals and supporting with eating and drinking
• Helping with mobility and safe movement
• Providing companionship, conversation and reassurance
• Supporting with light household tasks
• Encouraging independence, choice and confidence
• Monitoring wellbeing and reporting concerns promptly
• Completing accurate digital care records using your smartphone
• Following care plans, risk assessments and agreed procedures
• Communicating respectfully with clients, families, colleagues and professionals

What we need from you

Because this is a community-based role, applicants must:

• Have the right to work in the UK
• Hold a full driving licence
• Have reliable access to their own car
• Be willing to travel locally between clients’ homes
• Be confident using a smartphone for rotas, communication and digital care records
• Be compassionate, patient, dependable and respectful
• Have good communication and listening skills
• Be willing to complete all required training
• Be available for agreed shifts, which may include mornings, evenings and weekends

Previous care experience is desirable but not essential. We are interested in your values, reliability and willingness to learn.

Applicants must be registered with NISCC or be willing and eligible to register. NISCC registration and associated fees are the applicant’s responsibility.
