Pressure Ulcer Prevention Training - Free of Charge!

Recently there has been a heightened awareness through the news and local press surrounding the care which Nursing and Care Homes are providing for their residents in the County, in particular concerning the treatment and prevention of pressure damage, which in one case has potentially caused the death of residents in care.

I am sure you are aware, as a service provider, that 95% of pressure damage can be prevented and how we do this is simple, by providing Healthcare Professionals with the knowledge and understanding on the appropriate use of pressure relieving equipment and to give them a better understanding of how the skin works with the aim to prevent Pressure Damage occuring in the first instance.

Can you Access this Type of Training?

Over the past few years GNCS have been providing this training and other subjects to the Care Providers in the County and many have accessed our training. However as GNCS are a private company, we do charge for our training and because of this many Care Providers have not utilised this training because of financial restrictions.

As a Director and owner of GNCS, i would like to support, help and work with the Care Providers across our County.

Why?

First of all we are passionate about improving heatlhcare and helping Healthcare Professionals protect themselves and the people they care for.

Secondly, GNCS have access to the Leading Experts in Pressure Area Care. Our Tutors have been involved with the writing of NICE guidelines relating to Pressure Area Care, they have also been nationally recognised for their expertise in the field of Tissue Viability and we want to make them available to the Care Providers in our County to help prevent recent events from happening again, as they can be prevented.

How are we able to help?

GNCS will be providing Full Day Pressure Ulcer Prevention Courses, taught by the leading specialists at our Head Office Training Room in Kettering, over the next 12 months, FREE OF CHARGE to all Care Providers in Northamptonshire.

The next course will be held on the 17th December 2010

Places will be limited and to start, we are accepting a maximum of 2 nominations per provider, this may increase due to demand.
