A charity that supports people with dementia in North Yorkshire is set to receive a cash boost thanks to a team of fit fundraisers from a leading home care provider.
A team from Carefound, which provides specialist home and dementia care to elderly people, will run the Jane Tomlinson’s York 10k on 4 August in aid of Dementia Forward, a charity supporting families in Ripon and Harrogate.
Claire Spence, staff co-ordinator, organised the fundraiser with the charity. She said: “At Carefound Home Care we work with families experiencing dementia every day and it is a cause that is very close to our hearts. “Supporting people with dementia is never just about a carer or even the care provider like us – it is everybody involved in that person’s life such as a son, a daughter, a carer, a GP, a lawyer or a charity. Dementia Forward provides a service which is hugely important to families in the local community and we are keen to support them wherever if possible – if you are able to sponsor our team we would be very grateful.”
