A charity that supports people with dementia in North Yorkshire is “so very grateful” to a team of fit fundraisers from Carefound Home Care.
Staff from the home care provider raised more than £1,100 for Dementia Forward by completing the Jane Tomlinson’s York 10k run.
Netty Newell, community liaison officer at the charity, said: “We are so very grateful to the Carefound Home Care team and everyone who got behind them to raise such a significant amount of money. The money will be used locally to provide vital support to people affected by dementia in our community.”
Commenting on the team’s achievement, Oliver Stirk, director of Carefound Home Care, said: “Our fantastic team works with families experiencing dementia every day and it is a cause that is very close to our hearts. Supporting people with dementia is never just about a carer or even a care provider like us – it is about everybody involved in that person’s life such as a son, daughter, a carer, a GP, a lawyer or a charity. Dementia Forward provide a service which is hugely important to families in the local community and we are delighted to help them wherever possible. People have been incredibly generous in supporting our team to take on the York 10k for which we are very grateful.”
