Home Instead are always looking to bring CAREGivers on board from the Swansea area, and they love that they can find such a wonderfully diverse collection of people who find such pleasure in helping others, and discovering little ways to improve the lives of others on a daily basis.
That’s what being a CAREGiver is all about. Home Instead can never stress enough that finding work in the care sector does not always have to be about how many qualifications you have, or drawing on years of experience, and it is not always a chore or a battle to find a care assistant position. Home Instead have seen firsthand that so many different people can become amazing CAREGivers without the need for qualifications or experience; they truly believe that anyone with the desire to help people could be the perfect candidate for a CAREGiver.
For Home Instead, the best thing about seeking out new CAREGivers and seeing them take to their post is the way in which they make genuine connections with the people they care for, and find firm friendships among a cast of interesting and inspiring individuals.
One such friendship is the bond between Ben and his CAREGiver, Paul Hoppe. Ben is a huge lover of motorbikes, and used to be an avid rider himself and a member of Hell’s Angels before he had an accident that left him with some brain damage and the right side of his body paralysed. Paul also enjoys motorbikes and they both enjoy visiting motorbike showrooms before heading to the pub for a quick pint.
Last year, it was Ben’s 50th birthday, and Paul was there with Ben every step of the way to help him with the organisation and planning of the party. Paul took to Facebook to help track down some of Ben’s old friends from the Hell’s Angels who helped Ben celebrate his birthday, while also talking with Ben and Paul about their new bikes. Paul even did a turn as a DJ and supplied the party music for the night, playing some of Ben’s favourites like Meatloaf.
They like to call Paul a ‘legend’ at Home Instead, as he is always the first person to provide help where it’s needed and thinks nothing of going the extra mile for his friends and clients. He is a genuinely nice guy, and every one of his clients thinks of him as a great friend.
Paul is an excellent CAREGiver, and also a great example of our belief that you don’t need years of experience or numerous qualifications. Paul had no prior experience of working in the care sector, and worked in Morganite in Swansea for over 40 years before coming on board with Home Instead Swansea. He provided care and support for a family who was living with vascular dementia, so he truly knows the importance having a great friend can make.
Home Instead's CAREGivers are some of the best people they’ve met, and they know that there are so many more kind and caring people like them in the Swansea that have the potential to be an amazing CAREGiver. Home Instead truly value what their CAREGivers do, which is why they offer benefits like generous mileage allowance, flexible working, rewards schemes, and even special vouchers and discounts. They even have a CAREGiver referral scheme.
If you are kind and compassionate, and are looking for a rewarding career that allows you to help people every single day, then you can find out more about being a CAREGiver on their website here, or you can call Home Instead today on 01792 790890.
