The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated the Complex Care Services at Newcross Bristol as ‘Good’ across every one of its inspection areas: Safety, Efficiency, Care, Responsiveness and Leadership. The company provides nursing and personal care to people in their own homes across the Bristol and South Gloucestershire areas.
In particular Inspectors highlighted the ‘very positive’ caring nature of Newcross staff. One relative, interviewed for the report said: “Whilst my daughter is severely disabled, her face always lights up when her carer arrives and she is so patient with her.”
Another Newcross client told CQC Inspectors, “The carers who looked after my wife and I became part of our family. When my wife died, it was only really because of their kindness and consideration that I coped as well as I did.”
The inspection also highlighted how Newcross works closely with the families of people they were caring for to ensure trusting relationships are developed through thorough assessments and ongoing communication.
A relative told Inspectors: “This is the first time that I have entrusted my daughter’s care to anyone other than myself and it has taken me a long time to get to a stage where I feel comfortable to trust the carers to look after my daughter without me necessarily being here as a backup.”
During the inspection interviews another relative spoke of the difference having confidence in the staff had made to their own life, “It feels strange to be able to sleep through the whole night without stressing about how our daughter is in the meantime.” Another client commented, “We have been very impressed with their level of knowledge and their 'caring' attitudes.”
Newcross Managing Director Michelle Gorringe (RN) said: “We are extremely pleased that the Care Quality Commission has recognised the quality of Newcross Complex Care Services and that in particular they have highlighted the ‘caring’ nature of our services having spoken directly to our clients.

We take real pride in offering a truly personalised care and support service developed to enrich each and every one of our client’s lives and help them to lead the most fulfilling lives they can.”
Bristol Complex Care Manager, Laura Nangreave went on to say: “I am delighted that the CQC has awarded us a ‘Good’ rating following inspection across all areas. The Bristol Complex Care Team take the well- being of not only their clients, but also their families extremely seriously. The team are dedicated, caring and hardworking they are as pleased as I am that their hard work has been recognised.”
