The team from Manorcourt Homecare's Thurrock branch have hosted a special charity fun day, which saw them raise £300 for several chosen charities. The Mayor Cathy Kent and counsellor Steve Liddiard attended, plus carers, service users, family and friends.
The charities are:
St Luke’s Hospice, Battersea Cats and Dogs home, Demelza Children’s hospice
Angeline Fisher, Registered Branch Manager at Thurrock said: "We all thoroughly enjoyed the charity fundraising day, which included the opening of the "Thurrock Cafe" where visitors could come in for breakfast or refreshments in return for a donation. There was also a grand cake sale, with lovely homemade cakes. We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who contributed. Over the next few months we are holding several different events in which all money raised will go towards our three charities. We are also raising sponsor money for our Alzheimer’s walk we will be doing as a team in September."
