Cygnet Care which is a family-run Agency operating with continuity since 1993, was delighted with their latest inspection report from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The Agency has been rated as overall Good in all aspects of its service to vulnerable people living in the community. This provider, based near Bideford covers the local area around Barnstaple, South Molton, Parkham, Woolsery and surrounding rural districts.
The Inspection rated Cygnet as Good in all five crucial areas. The Service was Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.
The Management leadership “Cygnet was well led and Staff felt motivated and listened to by the Registered Manager who supported Staff and who recognised that the service was only as good as what the Staff deliver.”
The Staff, some of whom have been with the Agency for many years are highly valued and are recognised as a skilled and professional workforce.
Feedback received from Clients and their relatives was consistently complimentary. The Auditors were informed by Service Users and their relatives that “staff were Caring, Professional and Kind”. People said: “They treat me well… all become friends… they are just caring and lovely.” “The Management and Carers knew people well and had regular contact with them.”
Clients experience high levels of continuity of Care “with a regular team of Carers visiting them who never missed a visit and were rarely late.” Personal care is given and the Auditors found that Clients were always treated as individuals and one person said: “They go above and beyond what is expected” Another person said: “The Agency looks after me as an individual…it is person centred care…. I am looked after.”
Training levels exceed what is recommended by the Commission. The training sessions are very regular and varied and are delivered by a variety of highly qualified external Trainers.
