An Easter hamper filled with chocolate eggs has been donated to the children’s ward at GW hospital by Nurse Plus staff following a competition win.
The Nurse Plus’ Swindon branch were announced as winners of the internal competition, aimed at encouraging staff members to sign up for available training diplomas.
After receiving their winning gift of a chocolate hamper, the kind-hearted staff wanted to donate this to children at their local hospital.
A total of 195 nominations were put forward during the process, with 17 Nurse Plus branches across the country successfully signing up for a course.
Denise Coates, Head of Training at Nurse Plus commented: “We’ve always encouraged further learning here at Nurse Plus and so we’re thrilled that so many of our employees signed up to begin a diploma.
“It was heartwarming to hear that the Swindon branch has donated their prize to their local hospital.”
The diplomas on offer were aimed at members of staff who had been working at Nurse Plus for three months or longer, work an average of over 20 hours per week and held no university degree.
Geri Bawden, branch manager at Nurse Plus added: “The Swindon team were over the moon to win the competition and to then be able to donate their prize. At Nurse Plus we always actively encourage people to partake in training and in furthering their own career.”
