Brooke carers become Dementia Care Coaches

Manorcourt Homecare has been undertaking special Dementia Care training with the Norfolk and Suffolk Dementia Alliance. The latest carers to qualify as Dementia Care Coaches are Chloe Girling and Denis Egan from Manorcourt's Brooke branch.

Having undertaking the training, the Dementia Care Coaches are undertaking coaching sessions with Manorcourt Homecare's team of carers, customer's families as well as with care workers located in residential homes across the area.

The Dementia Care Coach training is a learning programme, which helps care professionals to understand the condition better, and offers guidance on how people can be looked after as dementia progresses. They are also given the tools to pass on this knowledge and skills to colleagues, other care professionals and even family members.

Skills and advice can include understanding and coping with changes in behaviour, to practical steps to help someone with dementia to live in their home for longer.
