The Worshipful Mayor of Sandwell, Councillor Ahmadul Haque MBE, joined members of the community to celebrate the first birthday of Nurseplus’ West Bromwich branch after a year of growth and team expansion.

To mark the milestone, the Nurseplus team invited in clients and local families to enjoy a day of activities, including face painting, games, a charity tombola and food at the Victorian Street based branch.

Since its opening 12 months ago, the healthcare recruitment company has employed 75 care staff, with the branch delivering carers, support workers and nurses to over 60 established homes across the region.

Senior Branch Manager, Steve Kelly, commented: “We had a fantastic time celebrating our first birthday and meeting members of the community, as well as updating the Mayor on our growth over the past year. Since our opening we’ve created new jobs for the area and delivered a much needed service to the people of West Bromwich.

“We have thrived so far and are looking forward to carrying on the success and delivering a high quality standard of care to people needing all levels of healthcare support.”

The branch was declared officially open last year with a visit from Councillor Julie Webb, who praised Nurseplus for its investment in the area and for meeting the needs of the increasing elderly population.

The Mayor commented: "I am pleased to be invited to celebrate the first anniversary of the Nurseplus Branch in West Bromwich.

“There is such a need in the provision of the services they provide within Sandwell due to the increasing elderly population and the need for their services by people with mobility problems.”

Nurseplus was established in 2005 by a group of experienced healthcare and recruitment experts. Since then the company has grown rapidly and provides homecare and nursing agency services, with 60 branches across the UK. For more information, visit www.nurseplusuk.com.
