The owner of Home Instead Bromley, Chislehurst and Orpington has been appointed as a trustee of Age UK Bromley & Greenwich; a role that will see her providing insight into the issues affecting older people, enabling the charity to provide valuable support to an ageing population.
Karina Brown has joined the local charity’s board, bringing her nine years of experience running the home care company, as well as a further nine years as a solicitor specialising in providing legal advice to older people, particularly those with dementia. Thanks to her insight, she will strengthen the charity’s advice, support and activities which help ageing adults live the comfortable, healthy and happy lives that they deserve.
Karina says: “I’m delighted to join the fantastic team at Age UK Bromley & Greenwich. I have been involved with them previously and seen the positive difference they have made in the community, and I know how for many older people it’s a lifeline. I’m so excited to be part of the team taking it from strength to strength.
“My commercial, legal and health and social care experience has all involved supporting older people. That, along with my belief that older people deserve the very best support possible, will be beneficial to the charity as it continues to work towards its mission to make Bromley and Greenwich places where all can enjoy later life.”
Mark Ellison, Chief Executive of Age UK Bromley & Greenwich, says: “The staff and Trustees of Age UK Bromley & Greenwich are looking forward to working with Karina, her experience and knowledge of working with older people will be extremely valuable for the organisation”
