My relationship with Home Instead Bromley goes back several years, but I write about this last year, which has been an 'annus horribilis'. My two main carers looked after my husband, who lived with Parkinson's for 10years. When I could no longer cope with him at home, and I had to place him in a care home, they continued to visit him, which was a source of great joy/pleasure as it buoyed him up and gave me a break. They saw him through to the end and were present at his funeral. Such dedication is beyond measure and even words on a review form. It is priceless. Since my husband's death, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and they have stepped up again by visiting me each morning to ensure I am managing.

In general the service is very good. If I have one area which needs to be addressed it is the change over of carers, there needs to be more structure in this procedure. However in all Home Instead gives a very good experience to the people they support.

Time keeping, support and professionalism are nothing short of excellent, especially when judged against other agencies who have not reached an adequate standard. Priced far beyond the physical services provided are the rapport the carers who attend have established with my wife. It is a difficult stage to reach with a loved one when you realise you need help and it can feel somewhat invasive having people in and out of your home. As you know, as a retired priest I am more often in your position than on the receiving end. That in itself I find very difficult. It is humbling.
I found it challenging that different people would be in and out of our home but, having introduced us to several lovely carers, you were thoughtful enough to ensure that, on the whole, we had the same people regularly.
I have no idea how you maintain such high standards. People can be very difficult - particularly towards the end of life with frustrations, pain and fear. The girls were so reassuring.

As I live far away from my parents (both in their late 80s) I was concerned about selecting a carer I could trust in their home with them. My mother has dementia and Alzheimers and Annabel is patient, kind and firm when necessary. My parents both enjoy her company. I also find the unique app very reassuring and useful. Home Instead also ensure my mother has consistency of care with only people she has met before visiting her. I am happy to recommend them and pay more for quality care and the reassurance that brings.

We have been with home instead for 4 months and have found them to have good organisation from CEO downwards. There carers are excellent - 6 stars - and nothing is to small for them to tackle . I was recommended to Home Instead by a friend who already used their services. Having looked after my husband for 2 years, who suffers with Alzheimer's and dementia, I needed some respite. After meeting management and staff I decided to go ahead and have been very pleased with the care my husband has received. My role involves a lot of contact with clients, liaising with their families, writing care plans, doing risk assessments and scheduling visits. I also oversee the majority of Care Professionals training, introductions to clients, supervisions and appraisals which means I can ensure that all Care Professionals are motivated and dedicated and have the tools they need to provide the best service possible to our clients.
